Hi Guys

I have a Bulldog RS1100 remote starter. The unit came with a fine gauge short wire for the antenna which I can hardly get to the top of my dash.Is it possible to physically extend the antenna by splicing a longer piece of wire onto it and running it upalong my headliner to improve the reception distance? Or will a spliced together antenna be even worse?

thanks
New Guy

Hey, I've had the same problem with Bulldog before.  The wire is so short.  I called Bulldog and the technician said to get the wire as vertical as possible, and to not connect it to anything metal.  I actually wired it out of the dash and taped it vertically to the side of the dashboard (driver's side).....the part that gets covered when you close the door.  The range was a lot better (considering I used to have it under the dash, horizontal, and attached to metal).

Here's the post that I had, asking the same question about extending the antenna (towards the bottom of the post).  It doesn't sound like you really can.  I did learn, though, that you can put the antenna under you chin when you hit the button to extend your rangeposted_image).  You can probably call Bulldog (800-878-8007) about the range, too.
