Here's the situation
2003 GMC Sierra with a DEI 554R Alarm/remote start using a GMDL-BP. Everything was wired up and working perfectly, until I went to put power windows in the truck. While having everything tore apart I decided to re-wire some of the alarm. I get everything re-wired and installed, but here is where I am having problems. The alarm works fine, no problems. The remote start is another story. The truck starts and runs for about 1 second the dies. I have called the tech support guys at bypass kit and we reprogrammed the GMDL-BP. I think it might be a bad relay, but wanted the help of the pros before I go replacing relays. I am using the -200mA third ignition output from the GMDL-BP along with the -200mA third ignition output form the 554R followed by a diode to activate the the satellite relay used to provide power to the accessory #2 wire at the ignition switch harness. I can feel this relay click, the truck starts, then it clicks again and the truck dies, all of this in about 1 second.
The relay is wired like this: 87 brown acc#2, 86 and 30 always hot, 85 - input from the alarm and bypass kit, 87a not used. Is this a bad relay or do I have another problem.
Definately sounds like a defeat problem. What does the security light in the dash do while RSing?
