hello, hope you can help me, i bought the cm3000 and decided to install myself, i have it about 60% installed and i have it working to some extent. I'm having trouble with a few things... 1. my power door locks don't lock and unlock when i arm/disarm. 2. trunk doesn't pop when using remote. 3 system thinks doors are open when i arm and alarm does not activate when door is opened. 4. the remote start doesn't function because of chip in key that needs to be in ignition to start motor, any way to bypass that problem, motor will remote start if the key is just inserted into ignition and in off position. 5. what do i do with the following wires? connector #1, purple pigtail wire and blue wire coming off of second relay connector #2, i don't know where any of the wires on connector 2 go?? please help connector #3, pin #1 i don't have hooked up, should i hook it up anyway. (automatic tranny in car) pin #5 and 6 i have hooked up to the (-) and (+) of the floor lights that some on when the door is opened but i think something might be wiring because the system thinks the door is still open when i arm it even though the lights are off. connector #4, pin #2 i have this wire hooked up to the brown trunk release wire at the switch and my trunk doesn't open with the remote?? pin #4 i have hooked into the light blue lock wire and pin #5 is connected to the black unlock wire and locks don't work, please help?? connector #5 pin #1 and #2 and #3 i don't know where to hook them up, please help? pin #6 and #7 i don't have any need for aux i don't think i also have a proximity sensor any help with wiring that would be nice too. it has a red (+) 12v black (-) and a orange trigger wire. all and any help would be greatly appreciated

Is this a Grand Am Vehicle? I might be able to help you out. I know a thing or two about remote starter. ------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

thepencil, this is the Firebird GTA. wobeking wrote:

You need to add relays to convert the (-) signal from the CM3000 to (+). Use this diagram: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2P.jpg wobeking wrote:
2. trunk doesn't pop when using remote.
The trunk release is a (-) trigger and you will need to use a relay to boost the 250 mA signal from the CPU to operate the trunk release. Use this diagram: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2N.jpg wobeking wrote:

The door trigger wire is WHITE at the courtesy light and is a (-) trigger. Make sure that you use the RED / WHITE wire from CN3 and NOT the RED wire from CN3 otherwise you will experience this problem. wobeking wrote:

5. what do i do with the following wires?
wobeking wrote:
connector #1, purple pigtail wire and blue wire coming off of second relay
The two wires will not be used on this relay because you don't have a 2nd ACC , Starter or IGN wire. Tape off and do not use. You can remove the relay and use it for the trunk release though. wobeking wrote:
connector #2, i don't know where any of the wires on connector 2 go?? please help
The only one that you need to use is the BLACK wire. This will turn on and off the VATS bypass wire from the above diagram. This is considered your ground out when running wire. Tape off the other wires , they will not be used. wobeking wrote:

LIGHT BLUE wire doesn't need to be hooked up if this is a automatic vehicle. wobeking wrote:

Refer to PROBLEM 3 from above. this is why your having falsing problems. USE ONLY ONE door trigger input from CN3 plug. wobeking wrote:
connector #4, pin #2 i have this wire hooked up to the brown trunk release wire at the switch and my trunk doesn't open with the remote??
Refer to PROBLEM # 2 from above. You need a relay. wobeking wrote:
pin #4 i have hooked into the light blue lock wire and pin #5 is connected to the black unlock wire and locks don't work, please help??
Refer to PROBLEM # 1. You need to reverse the polarity of the triiger on the CPU to accomodate the (+) of the vehicle. wobeking wrote:
connector #5 pin #1 and #2 and #3 i don't know where to hook them up, please help?
You do not need to hook up pin # 1 or # 2 because there is no OEM alarm system on the GTA. The Dome light wire is optional and you need to hook up a relay for this to work if you want dome light supervision after you arm and disarm the car. Use this diagram and use the (-) version : https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/105.jpg wobeking wrote:
pin #6 and #7 i don't have any need for aux i don't think
This is used for any AUX device that you want to have controlled via the remote control. Window modules, lights, hood lock, etc.... the possibilities are endless. ------------- Jeff

i still cant get my trunk relay to work, i have the trunk release wire connected to the negative input in the diagram and the rest of it wired accordingly using the negative to positive wiring picture, then i have the +12 output to the brown with white stripe wire wire behind the switch. when i activate the trunk release from the remote the relay clicks and there is +12 on the output wire so im thinking maybe i have the output on the wrong wire.

The RED wire at CN3 is only for (+) type door trigger systems. ------------- Jeff

The trunk release is a (-) trigger and you will need to use a relay to boost the 250 mA signal from the CPU to operate the trunk release. Use this diagram: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2N.jpg The trunk release wire is BROWN wire and it's a (-) trigger. I have the information above from my long post ------------- Jeff
