My new alarm came in yesterday, and I was reading through the manual, and there's a lot more wires to hook up than there was on my APS-20B.
RED / White (5Amp) & Red Fused (15Amp) Wires: +12 VDC CONSTANT BATTERY SOURCE
I know this is the standard hookup, but it also says this wire is used for voltage sensing applications. Is that a different way of detecting entry? Is this better or more reliable than using the door pin switches?
Black w/ White Trace Wire: 300 mA Horn Output
So I guess this alarm uses both the siren (White w/Black Trace Wire) and the horn? Do I use a relay to hook this up to the horn? 2001 Plymouth Neon.
The manual says it can learn the delayed dome light. I thought you didn't have to worry about this if you hooked up straight to the door pins?
Hmm, I guess after browsing again the other few wires are kinda self descriptive.
Voltage sense is (shall I say ) for the Quick install and NOT the Best ..... Although it is a LOT more work to hook up Pin switches, magnetic switches, sensors, etc., the security level is much better.
300ma usually will work most ( - ) horns, but a Relay would be better.
Delayed Dome lights DO cause trouble for some Alarms, so the Learn feature would be a plus

The voltage sensing is an excellent feature for DIY. I have use it with lots of sucess. Only problem with this feature is down the road you may encounter the once in a while false alarm. This I have encounter is usually with an older battery. Replacement of a battery usually solve the problem. As mo12v indicated, going directly to the pins give you better security level.

Addition to mo12v notes, some dome lights has a delay. Once the timing of the delay is learned on the alarm it will not indicated a door is still open when you go and arm the vehicle.
