This is Marty with some more information, just in case it will help you help me.  I can jump accross the starter with the key on, it still won't start.  Using just the key it does absolutely nothing.  I don't know exactly what the system does, but think it shuts down the main "brain".  I'm trying to figure out how to either replace it or to just bypass it so the car doesn't just set there and collect dust.  I haven't been able to find anything out about the wiring schematic, color codes, diagrams or anything.  I did take the key in to a locksmith so we have tried a good key.  The only information I have been given, is there are 3 components that could be causing this problem, all tied into the pass system.  Thanks, everybody for just thinking about this little problem, have a good day.

The car always started up real easy, one morning, she forgot something and turned it off, went in the house, returned and tried to start it.  When you turn the key on you can hear the fuel pump and all the dash lights work, turn the key and nothing.... leave the key in the on position and jump across the starter and you can then crank it, but it will not start.  All the fuses have been checked, I've started wondering if the main brain chip didn't just fry or what else to check.  But it has this pass system on it and I've been told that if it quits working, it can cause the same problems.  I'm just trying to figure out what to check and how to check it next.  Any ideas are greately appreciated, thanks.  Marty

Hi Marty, You mentioned that you tried another key. Does this key's resistor pellet have the correct resistor value? If not, the vehicle will do just what it's doing now and you'll have to wait about 15 minutes until it will even work with the correct value (key). If the problem is with the value of the resistor in the key, you can attempt to bypass it. If you have the original key to measure, it would be helpful, but you can try each value and wait at least 15 minutes between tries until you find the correct value.

Where the diagram shows connecting a (-) Aux Output to #85 of the relay, simply connect it to ground for testing purposes and attempt to start with the key. If you get it to start and need a permanant solution, connect #86 to the Pink ignition lead in the igniton switch harness and leave #85 connected to ground.

One thing before you attempt to bypass it,  check that the PASS key harness is still in tact. It's possible that this is the problem, especially if it had a remote start installed at one time. 

If the PASS key is not the problem, I'd check to see if this vehicle has or had an aftermarket alarm installed? It's possible that another inhibit has been installed.

I'm new here, I don't have much experience with the "pass" system, however I have had a lot of experience with bad starters. I would recommend that you try a heavy guage jumper wire (eg. booster cable or welding cable size), from the battery positive post to the heavy guage connector on the starter. If the starter is the style with the solenoid mounted directly on it, you can jump between the small wire connector and your heavy guage jumper, just touch it for a second to test the function of the starter. I don't know if my advice will be useful, but I figure there's no harm in trying.
