Ive had my car alarm for about 3 months now and it constantly sets the alarm off for no reason at all.  I had the proximity sensor adjusted but it didnt do anything it still goes off.  When i roll my windows down it seems to go off more often.  I think its the wind that makes it go off, but im not sure.  And i would desparetely like to know how to shut off the passive arming.  Its really annoying, especially when the alarm keeps goin off and I cant shut it off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

first for the falsing - turn the prox sensor down MORE. that should do it (assuming it is the prox sensor that is making it false.

as for shutting off the passive arming - the factory setting is active arming, so im not quite sure why your setting is on passive arming unless you asked the dealer to set it, or you set it yourself. either way, let me tell you how to turn it off.  you can do it with the valet switch (hopefully you know where that is located in the car)

first, enter programming mode - you will do this by opening a door and leaving it open. then turn ignition on and off real quick. next hold down the valet button until you hear one chirp, release the valet button. next press the valet button one more time momentarily, then quickly press it again and hold it down until you hear 1 chirp. dont release yet, while you hold the valet button down, press the "lock" button on your viper remote. you will hear one chirp. then release the valet button. all done. to exit programming mode you can close the door again. this will take it out of passive arming mode. if you need to program any other features, your owners manual should tell you how, and it should also tell you all the stuff i just told you.

good luck

I have a 508D and I just ripped it out my car. I've always heard complaints about these and I have experienced it for myself. I will never put it back in my car. They are constantly falsing and causing problems.

I've never had good experiences with installing prox sensors in non-convertible cars.  They always seem to false much much more than in open top cars.  Plus the owners seem to expect more sensitivity out of them than is possible in a hardtop.

is that sensor tired into with the shock sensor. to by pass when you need arm wait a second and arm it again the sire will sound for a second or so. it it tired int soem thing eles, find out what zone it is and look in the owners manurl how to disable, kept in mind that it will only be turn off for that time.
