Topic: Adding Smart Keyless Entry

Subject: Adding Smart Keyless Entry

What smart keyless entry does is automatically unlocks the doors/unarms the alarm when you near the vehicle and locks the doors/arms the alarm when the your key/transponder is out of range...

I'd like to add this feature and can't seem to find any sort of module or anything...I currently have a remote starter (unsure of the brand), ideally would like to add this feature on, however if I could find an all in remote starting alarm with this feature I'd do that as well...

Lexus and Caddys (etc) has had this luxury for a few years, but now the $19K Toyota Prius has it!  If it's on that cheap of a car, they must have an aftermarket kit somewhere...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

There is a guy on eBay from Hong Kong who sells an aftermarket unit that does that. His name is yuki688 or yuki668 or something like that.

I have no experience with that unit, and it has no brand name. If you buy it and try it, you're completely on your own. But it is inexpensive.

I've thought about trying one myself.

Thank you, no yuki688 exists...I contacted yuki668 asking about some info because there's no auctions for it at this current time...

Do you remember how much it was?  Thanks

Nevermind, I found it...I assumed it was a add on module when instead it's an all in one alarm...It even includes remote start!

Thanks again...

The Magnadyne M5 will disarm when you walk near the vehicle, but that's only an alarm. It looks like most of the main players don't have this feature. Honestly I would be a little shaky about putting some no name alarm on my vehicle just to get this feature. Let us know how it works out for you. Also the Corvette was the first mass produced vehicle to have passive arming/disarming when you walk away/near the vehicle in 1993.

Delta electronics has something like that, I never used it but the model number is TRA-TX. It's called the hands free transmitter. Their number is 877-768-4768. or www.car-alarms.com . I tried one of thier cheap alarms once but I didn't like it.

Here's the link:

No real info other than "built-in keyless go system"...The guy's just a reseller who doesn't have any additional info than what's already there...I'm probably not going to get that one...

I'll look at nowyaknow suggestion Magnadyne M5and kellers link...I know it's been around the early 90s, I guess all the new-car systems not only arm/disarm, lock/unlock, you also don't need to put the key in the iginition to start it....As nice as that would be, I need something proven before I try that...

I would advise not buy from this guy either after looking at his feedback it is clear to that he sells some faulty stuff. At 96.6% that is not a good number. He had  36 negative comments about him in the last month. Just my 2 cents though.

Ya, there's another one on ebay that looked good, had a remote starter and all...Issue is, I have a remote starter now really wanted an add on module...I can't install it myself, the place that installed my remote starter won't installed stuff unless it's his...It might cost me crazy $ to uninstall what's already in there then reinstall something different...
