Hi Guys I just installed a Bulldog RS1200E in a 1994 Dodge Caravan. The starter works fine however I am unable to lock or unlock the doors using the starter remote or the factor keyless entry remote. I also noticed that I have no door chime or curtousy lights. I checked all the connections and fuses associated with the locks and all are fine. Anyone have suggestions on how I should start to troubleshoot the problem? thanking you in advance.

check to make sure the the green and black wire from the lock harness is connected to the pink and purple unlock wire and blue and black is connected to the orange and white lock wire....also red and black from the harness is going to a 12v source.... did you check the fuse in there too.... can you lock and unlock the doors with the switch??if you cant try checking the door lock relays in the car...

Here are the target wires and there locations: POWER LOCK------------------|ORANGE / white | + |---------------------relays in center console
POWER UNLOCK--------------|pink/purple | + |---------------------relays in center console Did you use these wires ? ------------- Jeff

Hi Jeff I did use those wires however I spliced in behind the drivers dash where the wires came out of the door. This was my first mistake. I remove the wires that I connected but to make things worse I now have no power door locks, no courtesy lights, no radio and no dash lights. I checked all fuses and tested all circut breakers all seem fine. I am trying to get the power back to the above accessories before I try again but I'm unable to determine where the problem lies. Hey Mark, did you make sure that the RED / BLACK wire went to a 12 volt fused source for the Bulldog system or did you ground that wire ? I have had this problem with Dodge's in the past as well and what I ended up doing was go to the back of the radio and find the CONSTANT battery wire ( RED / BLACK ) TEST TO BE SURE and see if there is a constant voltage from this wire. If there is no voltage on this wire then what you need to do is jump this wire to the constant 12 volts on the ignition harness or straight from the battery with a fuse inline. If this wire still has power in it then you have a different problem and is related to the BCM board.

Jeff. Thanks for the quick reply. I did hook the RED / black wire from the remote system to a constant 12V source. In your suggestion about testing the constant battery wire behind the radio and jumping it with constant voltage if none is present. Did you think this may solve the problem with all the accesories that I'm having? Is there anyway that maybe I blew a relay by hooking the system into the circuit where I did? If yes could this blown relay be the cause of all the other problems that I'm having? thanks, Mark

If the relay is blown, the method taht I have posted above will not work. Chances are you did not fry a relay rather part of the BCM that controls the lights, door locks & domelight. Try the above method first and see if you have power at the constant wire behind the radio. ------------- Jeff
