97 Infiniti Q45, Python 881xp

Whats up guys, first of all thanks in advance for anyone with any input.  I have a little dillema, Im installing a Python 881xp in a 97 Infiniti Q45 and im having a problem with the remote start and unlock.   First off with the remote start, i tried both the voltage and tach to get a signal.  With the voltage setting, it does nothing..... but with the tach signal, it'll turn on ... stumble and either fluctuate the rpm and turn off or stay on after 3 dips.  Next is with the door lock, i had to go into the door and get the wires.  I can get the remote to lock all doors, but when i unlock it'll unlock all doors except the drivers door.  Im stumped.  I couldnt get incontact with DEI tech support so I thought i'd try here.   Sorry for all the spelling and grammer mistakes but its kinda late.  Thanks again for your input!

That car's a little tricky for the unlock. Does your Python unit support two-step unlocking?

1. Connect your "factory disarm" and your "second unlock" to the Infiniti's unlock wire that you already found.

2. Find the "unlock motor" wire listed on the tech sheet. Take a relay and use your "first unlock" from the Python to trigger the relay. You'll need to perform a "5-wire" style interface with the relay.........the relay section on this site, as well as the instructions with the product, should show you a diagram.

Check the Python's programming instructions------you may need to go into programming and turn the two-step unlocking feature on.

As far as the tach/no tach, I'm not so sure. Did the unit turn on the LED to show you it's learning tach correctly?

The remote start does not control engine RPM. If the engine is fluctuating and not running smootly, you either have a mechanical problem with the car that needs attention, or it's possible you missed one of the ignition or accessory wires.

And when you say the unit is programmed for voltage sense, it does not work AT ALL? Or do you mean it doesn't crank long enough to start the car?
