Immobilizer challenge... all welcome!!!
Intention: Acura RSX engine swap into a non-immobilizer car, utilize OEM ECU.
Objective: use a programmed 555I to use as a transponder unit-receiver to activate the signal when Ignition.
solution: using hte 555I as a unit-receiver, will it work? youll notice, the ecu, theres another wire, brwn/yllw, on pin E3 that goes from receiver to ECU. do i need that? or will it work w/ just thw two wires, ign fee d and data?
(the next post will include two diagrams of the units, 555I and ECU.)
any question or comment, plz ask. need any expertise from yall if i can.

Go to an experienced tuner and have them remove the immobilizer from the ecu? I haven't heard much about the k20 ecus. This could or could not help.

if youre talkin about hondata, which they specialize in, they charges like 500 for a reflash. also, i dont want to go w/ a k-pro or stand-alone management system, no money.
for right now, i am itching to try it on my sis 02 civic, but too scare if it messes up.
ivent heard too many tuner that actually know what the hell is goin on w/ electronics parts.
ill take a shot at those two links.

I have a question that I may already know the answer to but here goes, if the car that you are putting the engine into is fi then why are you changing the ecu?

I found your posts at k20a.org as well. Also I see 2 downfalls, first you need an rsx to code the bypass. Second after you program it you need to trasnfer it to the vehicle it will go into ie erasing the code. I'll think about something.

if youre to search a bit more about K-series that ppl use to swap into a non-immobilizer car, theyll go w/ kpro, but K-pro ecu is like 1grand for it.
any ECU expert out there or know any site, LMK. if this method works, itll be nice to save some big bucks. ------------- Houston,TX

Forgot to ask, do you have a key programmed to the ecu?

For the engine to run correctly you have should the appropriate ecu. The k's ecu's are competely different then the p2p ecu from a ek civic.

It sounds like he is taking the motor from a rsx or civic si and putting it into civic that is older and completely different. It is a different engine, different sensors, different vtec system, completely different engine. Supposedly the only ecus that don't have immobilizers built in are available in the japanese version of the ecu.
I don't know how much you know about hondas so I don't know what needs to be explained but the k series engines can't use older ecus for d series or b series engines.

why would you use a v6? isnt it as much work and money as a k20, but no potential?

No shut up from me. They say that you don't know every thing until after you die ( maybe ). I will learn something from this myself and am planning a similer swap in about 6 weeks ( v6 into a Civic ).
anyways... i got some ideas from Auex. thanks Tim. ------------- Houston,TX

Ok, that is insane. Are you putting it under the hood or going to convert to rear engine rear wheel drive? I can say I haven't really heard much if anything on this swap.
