The basic install of an alarm is much the same as it was 10 years ago. Nothing has change much other than a few convenience feature to help out the installer. As for suggesting the best alarm. There isn't one available yet. You suggested Clifford alarm to someone on your other post. Why not pratice what you preach? I think they make pretty good product.
Below is a wiring diagram for your car. Hopefully, this will help you get your started. If you run into any problems just post up your questions. I am sure there are lots of people here who has done an alarm install in a similar car like yours can help you out.
DIRECTWIRE™ WIRING INFORMATION - FORD / MUSTANG / 1995 / Security
12volts yellow + steering column
Starter WHITE/ pink + steering column
Ignition tan/white + steering column
Power Lock pink / YELLOW either kick harness to rear
Notes: Non-keyless versions are 5-wire and the keyless versions are negative pulse. The lock wires can also be found behind the glove box.
Power Unlock pink/green either kick harness to rear
Notes: Non-keyless versions are 5-wire and the keyless versions are negative pulse. The lock wires can also be found behind the glove box.

Parking Lights+ brown below drivers kick

I can say that a Big Rotti would suffice... yet you will need to think about where you put your alarms brain and whether the siren is accesible or not... most time a thief can get the door open and then pull the hood in a matter of seconds only to cut the wires to the siren and then be off with your car... i would suggest getting a Clifford Concept series alarm... they hace anti-carjack... perimeter sensor with dual stage and one of the loudest sirens i ever heard
