Hey.

I'd like to add a 2-Stage shock sensor to my 1999 Chevy Blazer.  I think I can do this using the factory "alarm".  Could anyone tell me how to best go about doing this or where I could look to get going on this project.

I don't know where the alarm is located, or have a wiring diagram.  I'll admit, I'm new to this, but I don't think that this problem would be too hard.  I am pretty proficient in understanding this stuff, but I just got the Blazer.

Thanks for ANY info you could provide.

Brian

most factory alarms dont have a shock sensor input. if you really dont want to upgrade to an aftermarket alarm you can buy an add on module that will allow you to add sensors and other aux. ive seen one from omega research but im pretty sure other companies make one.

No such thing as warn away with factory alarms. You can tie into it but there will not be 2 stage.

It makes sense that there can be no "2 Stage" input to a Factory alarm, since the factory alarm has only one "alarm" sound.

Would it be possible to use it as a one stage sensor?  Just to trip the alarm?

It was mentioned that their is no AUX input into a factory alarm.  What Unit would allow for this, OR is there a way to wire the shock sensor to another input...  Say the dome light?

I just don't know what triggers the alarm on my Blazer.

Thanks for all your help, and quick answers.  It is all appreciated.

i would just buy an aftermarket alarm and avoid all the hard wiring, more reliable too, but if money is a little tight get the module and have your dual stage and extra auxs. for future add ons.
