I have a 2003 jeep liberty and got a viper alarm installed in it. I have the product number of the alarm in my garage, so i can get it upon request. The place that installed it said it was $50 more to install the keyless entry. Right now i can arm and disarm the alarm, but I have to use the OEM keyless entry. So it's kind of awkward switching from remote to remote. I have no idea as how to do this. I am a car audio buff, not alarms. I know a lot about car audio so this may not be hard for me to pick up. I have this 96-98 grand cherokee interface module made by dei is there any use for it at all?
The Liberty uses a Type F system and you will need two relays and resistors to accomplish keyless entry with the Viper system. Use this diagram for the relays :

Lock is negative trigger thru a 1.4K ohm resistor and unlock is negative trigger thru a 426 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. PINK/PURPLE wire is located in the top left corner in a black plug. If you have a Directed 457C or 456L interface module you can use this instead of the relays

Thanks, where is a good place to find info on alarms and what not? I'm trying to learn all aspects of car customization.
Power Lock | pink/purple | - | back of fusebox |
Notes: Lock is negative trigger thru a 1.4K ohm resistor and unlock is negative trigger thru a 426 ohm resistor. MUST use relays.
In the top left corner in a black plug.
Can also use Directed 457C or 456L interface modules. |
Power Unlock | same wire as power lock | |
the 457c will do everything power locks and factory arm and disarm
