I'm installing an aftermarket alarm/remote start system into a friend's 96 or 97 (i forget the year and he's not up yet) Ford Explorer later today. He (and myself) is interested in seeing if I can integrate the factory keypad on the door into the alarm. I know the alarm has a second input (-) for arm/disarm (including lock/unlock) so it would only be a matter of finding a wire that goes hot (+/-) when the correct code is entered. Anyone have any ideas on where this might be located?

If you take off the drivers side panel in the cargo area the control module for that is behind it. It will also have the factory keypad code printed on it. Hope that helps. Also if you take the jack cover off and shine a flashlight in there you will see it. If you press 7 and 9 at the same time that will lock the doors so mayby you could use that as a manual arm.

When you Lock / Unlock your doors using the Keypad ...It sends a Negative Pulse to Lock or Unlock anyway...........Soooooo, why not the same wires?
