Accessory wires on 1997 Ford Explorer

The info that I have says that these wires (gray / YELLOW) are on the same circuit. ( heat and ac)  How should I tie in to these wires?  Are they both the same size?   Any help would be great.    BrianH

Ign 1: Lt. GREEN/ Purple           Ign 2: N/A           Acc 1:Gray / YELLOW       Acc2: BLACK/ Lt. Green

Depending on what type of outputs you have, I would use a relay for Acc 2 using the Acc 1 wire as your trigger.

Just a small amendment, Someone else might disagree with me and I am open to information suggesting why NOT to do this besides thats what the manufacturer does, but you should be able to use your Ign 2 output from your starter unit to power the BLACK/ Green Acc2 wire.  That is how the12volt wire diagram shows it anyway. That would save you from having to use yet another relay.  Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, Although i rarely wire accessories with ignition outputs, I would like to more often if there really is no harm.  I guess I always just thought they cut out to reduce the pull from the battery during cranking.

I always use relays for ant secondary circuit to isolate from the possible surge of current draw that might be induced while remote starting the vehicle. My mentality of this is if they wanted all the circuits to be on one circuit, they would have made it like that from factory. with this being said , that is why I always isolate my secondary circuits from the primary ones with a relay and a solid 12 volt source ( ignition wires or straight to the battery )
