Has anyone had any experience installing a remote start system in a 2005 Escape? Particularly looking for information on the transponder bypass module. I have the DEI universal 555U and have been unsuccessful at getting the truck to start. I have tested the remote start feature with the stock key in the ignition and it starts fine, but cannot seem to get the transponder working properly. If you have done one of these before, did you have to wire it directly into the stock reader, or were you able to use the ring around the ignition coil.
I am currently working on this vehicle out of my home state, and leaving on Sunday. If you have info regarding this please e-mail me at drvnbysound@aol.com and if possible even provide a contact number you may have, so I could call. Thanks for any help.

Yeah. I know its picky about ring placement, but I have been successful with using it on quite a few other vehicles and haven't had a problem with it before. This if the first transponder bypass that really has me stumped. There is a way to hardwire the 555U into the factory system and not use the ring, however I dont have information on the factory bypass wiring which I would need to tap into to use.
Will try again tomorrow. Thanks for any additional help.

Thanks for posting the info. I got it working this morning. Im a dumbass, I thought the default setting for the alarm was voltage sense, and it was tach sense, which I didnt have the tach wire connected. I programmed the alarm for voltage sense with the 555U and it fired right up.
Thanks for the help anyway.
