Hey guys, I have a big problem...A week ago, I was installing some Neon lighting into my '92 Dakota.  I hooked the positive line up to the headlight switch & I hooked the ground up to where my keyless entry box was grounded.  As I hooked up the ground wire, the door lock went up & down real quickly.  I didn't think anything of it.  After that, I noticed my power locks not working at all.  I figured the actuators went bad, so I got a couple new ones & installed them.  As soon as I hooked up the switch, it was like I was holding down the lock button.  I ended up burning one of the actuators & every time I hook the switch up, I get the same thing.  What did I screw up?  What should I be reading at the switch itself?  It is a 2 wire system to the actuator & it is a 5 pin switch...

Sounds like your Keyless Entry is sending a Ground Pulse to the Relays ( if you R using them )
When U unhooked your Ground from th KE, U could have fried a component inside or the Relay / s.......
Try unhooking KE & see what happens

Is there any way I can check the remote start unit?  I looked at the 2 relays I have & they both show continutity from 87a to 30...Should I have continutity across the coil, because I dont (I checked this out of the circuit.  From what I see, I have 2 wires coming from the remote start/keyless entry unit that go to the relays...What voltage sould I get from each of these wires?

You should have continuity from 87a to 30......
The 2 wires from RS/KE should be Lock / UNLock pulse wires that are usually GROUND ( - ) when Lock / UNLock is pressed on Remote.
When Remote is pressed one of the Relays should show voltage accross 87 & 30 then back to 87a & 30

Well I ended up fixing it myself.  I thought about it & figured when the ground got disconnected, it screwed the whole sysytem up, so it probobly needed a reset.  I had to take the pos. battery cable off for 30 seconds & reconnect it while holding down the lock button on the remote.  I did it & everything worked perfect.  Thanks for trying to help.
