I installed a compustar remote start alarm on my 02 Ford F-350 diesel and everything works fine but I have one question about the door locks. The compustar remote will lock and unlock my doors just fine but if I use the factory remote to lock my doors, then the compustar remote will not unlock it only locks also the unlock switch in the truck won't work. So I manually unlock the doors with the key then everything is fine again. What can cause this?

Just use the remote for the compustar if it still controls everything else fine, don't confuse the brain inside.

ok heres what is happening to you the cars keyless entry remote wakes up the gem upon unlock the ford has a module called teh gem and this module loses power after a certain time after the doors are locked and in order to control the unlock feature of the new remote you must first wake up the gem and it will work. heres how to do it get your self a spdt relay and go into the drivers kick panel along teh running board there is a thick bundle of wires look for the small guage yellow/black this should be your door ajar wire nwyou need to cut this wire in half and wire to relay the side closest to the door goes to pin 87a now teh other side goes to 30 now take your unlock lead off teh alarm brain and insert a diode with the band facing the alarm send one wire to the unlock wire in the car and another to pin 85 now put 12 volts constant opn pin 86 and keepo your lock wire on the lock wire in the car .

In that case, wont a programed double unlock pulse from the Alarm/Remote Start do the same thing?

So... your saying that does work?  The link doesnt work (Unless its my end)

Also, on a 2003 F-350 does the radio stay on after igniting is cut?  If so, how do you turn it off, or have it not turn on with remote start request?  Im somewhat new to this, so bear with me.

Okay copy and paste this one from Velocity Motors

As far as the radio staying on you will have to trigger the door ajar wire. the problem is that it will set the  alarm. In this trucks when the ignition turns off the dome lights comes on. that will set your alarm off. That is the only thing I couldn't figure out so I set the remote start for 60 minutes. givin the costumer enough time to go to the car before the RS tuns off. There is a way to take care of this but it's a lot of work. You more likely used the     black \blue + trigger wire?? you can interupt this wire with a latch timer relay, so when the remote starter turs off it will interrupt the alarm tigger wire for about 35 seconds so you alarm won't go off. As for as the radio goes, don't worry it will turn off by itself after 10 minutes. Good Luck. TEST WIRES>

Thanks for your input, I advised the customer that his radio would stay on for awhile on remote start shutdown without key.  Dome light only stays on for 1 min.  Customer did not want the radio on untill door opened feature disabled.  Worked perfectly.   Thanks again Jeff!!!!
