i have an aps-786t  prestige security system. i tried adjusting shock sensor by turning the screw on the sensor itself but that did not work. apparently there is a certain procedure that has to take place before it can be adjusted by the screw. does anyone out there now how to? thanks in advance.

the sensor is way too sensitive, so i've been trying to turn it down and yes it's pluged in.

There is only one way to plug it in as one side of the harness is bigger than the other. As far as adjusting it, just turn the screw to the right to increase sensitivity and left to turn down.  And make sure it mounted to a solid piece of metal as this sensor is designed to be mounted to something solid.

I've tried that to see if it would work but this sensors won't work like that. And with the short wire they come with, they are a pain to mount.

Is it false triggering or only when it's actually picking up some vibration? Why doesn't it work when mounted to a wire harness, to isolate it some from the chassis? Maybe try an isolation pad or some foam double stick tape-
