I've got an older Black Widow alarm (unknown model #, circa ~97) that I pulled out of my last vehicle. On the connector to the shock sensor, there's a wire labelled "switched ground". I'm hoping this is a common type of connection so here's the question: what's it for? It was hooked up to a relay before, but I didn't pay enough attention to the wiring when I pulled it out and I can't find the manual for the alarm. I had a remote start on the vehicle before, was it maybe in place to turn off the sensor when the remote start was activated? It appears that it used to go straight to the sensor, should I reconnect that wire to the sensor?
Thanks in advance. :)

is the wire coming straight out from the sensor? is it a dual stage?

Yep, it's a 2-stage. The wire is part of the harness to connect the main unit to the sensor, there's a 4-pin plug-in connector on either end of it. It's not in front of me, but IIRC one was labelled "warn away", one was a trigger and then there was this "black switched ground"

yes the switched ground disengages the sensor upon rs.
