As most of you know, cars usually switch accessory power off while the starter is engaged. I was wondering if anyone knew why this is the case. The best I could figure is that is some sort of protection for most electrical components in the car as the voltage spikes up when the altenator takes over. Does anyone know if this is true, or for some other reason? Thanks for any help.
