I have installed a 554R remote strart with 2-way paging system in a 1999 toyota camry for a relative. Every thing has worked fine until she had to change the battery. Now every 24 hrs exactly it remote starts. IF the time is changed on the remote it changes the time of day it remote starts. The 24hr timer is NOT activated and due to the time of the RS happening I have singled it out to the remote. The remote is less than a year old. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with any DEI 2 way remote or anything else you may think it could be.

Thanks for any help

Have you Turned ON the Timer & Then Turn it OFF?

24-Hour Timer Mode

To enter 24-hour Timer Mode, press and simultaneously. The remote control will produce

a melody and the clock indicator will appear on the remote’s LCD. Once in Timer Mode, the

system will remote start every 24 hours. Repeat this process to turn Timer Mode off.

it would be helpful if you told him what  to press simultaneously.....

press the Lock and Panic buttons at the same time... once to reactivate (the icon will appear on the LCD remote) and once to turn off the feature (the icon will disappear)

the 24 hr icon will disappear from the display with the feature on... so the fact that the icon is not there doesnt neccessarily mean the feature is not active....

as far as i know the 24hr timer is not on. No icon but its possible she did something to it and for what ever reason it got stuck on. When she changed batteries and tried to set the clock but couldn't figure it out. I think I'm going to reset (remove the battery) the remote and see if it clears things up. Do these have a memory of any kind? I've never owned a 2 way unit and not familiar with what they do and don't do.
