If you buying an alarm made by DEI suck as viper, cliffored, avital, black widow, python ect.. get the two way unite with an lcd display because the led two way remotes suck because they lag on transmitting. it's like a natural defect and sorta annoying because when you push a button the led two way remote it takes a like a second and a half to do anything and confirm. the lcd two ways works in real time and you don't have to push the button again after the first. they just work better in real time.

A. Black Widow is NOT made by DEI

B.  LCD "Responder" units transmit and receive on different frequencies, which explains their near real time response.... the LED units transmit and receive on the SAME frequency, which means it has to wait till it's finished polling before it can transmit, etc....

I have a matrix rs3.5, and i installed it myself, years ago. It has never skipped a beat. Too bad i can't say the same for the remotes. the martix rs3 had major issues with the remote. they broke about every 60 days. I upgraded to the rs3.5 when it came out. I have had my new one for about 2 years. It broke. i took it apart and soldered it back together. There are 2 circut boards in the remote that are connected through push together pins and the solder joint in every remote is weak. The new ones are a great deal better, i'll give them that. I like the unit and the interface the most out of any other company.
However, I have been working with Scytek for about 4 years and am most impressed. The earlier models had issues with the receiving antenna, but that problem was resolved late 04' and i haven't had a problem since. Their remotes survive my customers and more importantly my girlfriend. She used to get mad and throw them before she "grew up", and they never failed on me. I've had the new color screen alarm they make on her car for about 4 months. It's pretty nice. It has better range than the DEI that's on my car.
