I'm trying to fit a TOAD Ai606 to my 1999 Hyundai Coupe, but it's proving a nightmare without an electrical circuit diagram for the car. If only I had something to tell me which colour wires to look for it would make it so much easier.

Anyway, I got part of the way today but I still have a few questions that someone might be able to help me with.

I need to fit a motor in the driver's door lock. These come in 2 wire and 5 wire versions, but the question is what do I attach the wires to? There are about 6 outputs from the TOAD alarm. Would these give the appropriate voltage to operate the motor or do I have to find another feed?

Are the indicators on this car +12V switched or earth switched? I'm guessing it's the former, but I'd like to know for certain.

Does anyone know which colour wires I should hook up to for each indicator circuit as I need to fit one wire to each circuit. From the switch there is a black, a RED / yellow, 2 green, 2 GREEN/ YELLOW and a GREEN / WHITE. Which are the 2 wires I need to hook into?

Also, does the door light circuit go to ground when any door is open or does it go to +12V? Where can I pick up the wire - would I find it near the fuse box and what colour is it?

Thanks for all your help.

Best wishes,

John

Sounds like your alarm has built in door lock relays...Take whats labled N.O. and go to 12v...there should be a fuse in line already. These represent pin 87 on a standard relay. Take the ones labled N.C. and go to earth. These are pin 87a. What you have left over is common, lock and unlock to attach to your actuator. Pin 30.  These relays are controlled internally.
As for what type of actuator....use a 2 wire

Hi,

Many thanks for your advice and also for the link to the wiring colours. I wonder why they don't give the colours for the direction indicator wires? Still, they should be pretty obvious on the steering column.

Thanks again,

John
