Hey all I'm either going to get a viper or python alarm with remote start 2-way. I'm going to get an authorized dealer to install it but if i wanted to get the battery backup, another siren, or perimeter sensor  is it easy to install yourself?  I know the alarm can be hard if you don't know what you're doing so im not bothering with that but is it easy to install the battery backup youself or any other accessory?  If so where can the instructions be found.  Thanks

The battery back-up kit should come with wiring instructions.  The DEI-520T I purchased did.  Very easy to install.  The biggest problem is finding a suitable place to mount it.   I mounted mine inside of the center console.  My shock sensor and microwave detector is in there too.  I access the settings by flipping open the rear ashtray panel at the rear of the center console.

DE-520T Wiring:

RED = Constant +12VDC to Battery backup module.

BLK = CHASSIS GND

BLU = (-) trigger to alarm - Use 1N4000 series isolation diode.

GRAY = +12VDC Back-up Power to Alarm.

Lead acid battery has connector to plug into back up module.
