Viper 791XV, DEI 555L, 2001 Chevy Silverado gasoline (Passlock 2)
According to the wire color diagram, you connect the starter kill wires to the yellow wire between the key cylinder and the BCM (which first goes to the fusebox). The 555L indicates the same yellow wire for it's resistor wires. Is it alright to use the same wire for both?
Do you have to use the factory alarm disarm output or does the 555L already take care of that? I connected this wire to the green factory disarm wire indicated in the wire color diagram, but the remote start starts and immediately dies. I followed the instructions for the tach learning and resistor learning. I have the yellow wire coming from the key cylinder first looping through the 555L resistor circuit, then the alarms start kill circuit, then the fuse box to the BCM I presume.

Okay the door locks on the Chevy are light blue + lock and white + unlock. I verified these with the voltmeter, then connected them to the wires on the alarm. First, I tried light blue to to the alarm's blue + lock - unlock wire and white to the alarm's green - lock + unlock. The door switch unlock worked, but the lock blew the 3A fuse. So I replaced the fuse and reversed the wires. Now the lock button on the door worked but the unlock blew the fuse. I checked the green wire for continuity to ground but there was none. So what's up with this crap?
Am I supposed to connect the alarm's wires to the Chevy's lock and unlock MOTOR wires?

It really sounds like you have the wrong Unlock wire.. Does the Door Switch work ( without blowing fuse ) if you unhooked the 791 wires?

When I unplug the door lock plug from the alarm brain, the door locks work fine with the switch on the door.
Could it be something with the factory keyless entry?

The Passlock II and starter kill wires have nothing in common. Unhook what you have connected so far and bring it to a professional before you burn your truck to the ground.

Give me a break, kid. A "professional" is going to say "oh let's replace all these connections with scotch locks". I don't know what you take me for, but I'm not some idiot just because I'm not familiar with the newer cars (95+).

I'm not sure why I'm even gonna attempt to help you, but I will.
What you did in the above statement is where you screwed up.
The Passlock II yellow wire is about 18 gauge in size. It will be next to the ORANGE / black Passlock II ground wire. It gets cut....keyside goes to the yellow from the 555L, the other side (BCM side) goes to the BLACK / YELLOW from the 555L.
The yellow starter wire is thicker. Its also grouped together with the ignition wires. It will also test differently. Since your not an "idiot", I doubt I need to explain how to test it. Plus, its in the install guide. That wire gets cut and wired to the starter kill from the 791XV.
