I was wondering if anyone out there has installed a doorlock actuator in a 1986-1991 Mazda RX-7. I purchased the DEI Rattler 359D Remote Starter and Keyless entry and just wondered if anyone had installed the actuator in the door of an RX-7 before. Thanks to anyone who can help me, i just need to know where exactly the actuator should be mounted.

I haven't done it in the mazda, but I've done it (twice) in a second generation Integra. I'm not positive what the door panel looks like in the rx7, but in my car, I was able to mount the actuator on the door behind the armrest of the door panel. In other words, behind the door's armrest, there's a good space of room, so when you put the panel back on, it fits over the actuator. HOpe that helped :)

Hey crashter, I've done a few of these. I just use the large open space to the rear of the driver's door. The actuator should mount facing the front and it should be below the lock control rod. I think I used an extra piece of backstrap to stabilize the motor because the included piece wouldn't reach across the opening. It is a pretty easy install. If you have any other questions about this, let me know while it's still vivid in my mind posted_image . Hope this helps.

Thanks mike, I actually just put it in today, (Monday) and put it just to the right of that large hole and used the supplied support brace. The actuator did push a little on the door panel, but you can't tell. thanks alot for the help. have a good one
