Alrighty, so where to start.
I got most of the alarm working (lights flash, horn beep, etc.) but im stuck with the door trigger
In the mx6, the door trigger is a RED / white wire i believe and is - polarity i believe (from research anyway)
On my alarm, theres 2 wires, a + trigger wire and a - trigger wire. Ive tried just about every place i could think of to hook them up and cant seem to get it to work...someone plleeaase enlighten me!
Ive tried hooking it up between that wire, +12v constant, ground, etc. etc. etc!
RED / white - under dash fusebox is the trigger wire.
You can only use a positive or the negative trigger input wire on your alarm unit and not both. Before hand make sure your domelight comes on when you open the door and goes off when the door is close. Otherwise, you will have a difficult time triggering your alarm. I would look into replacing the bulb if it's burn out and cleaning out the rust on the door pins if they are not functioning like they should.
It will be a negative polarity trigger for this vehicle, but don't take my word for it. Test it out just to be sure. Look for the RED / white wire, do a polarity test on this wire and make the appropriate connection to the trigger wire on your alarm unit.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

Alright, that clears a little up. my dome light does come on when i open the door.
I just went out and tried it, when i hook the - trigger (i also tried the +) to the door trigger, close the door, arm the alarm, then open the door, the alarm doesnt go off.
I appreciate the quick reply, would you happen to have another idea for me?
Have you tested the door trigger and 100% certain that it is the door tigger and it is correct and working? What polarity have you got?

Combinations of three things are usually the cause of the problem that you are trying to correct. The first issue is the door trigger. That is not a problem since you have tested it out and know for certain it is working and it is a negative polarity. Second issue I want you to take a look at is the input negative trigger wire on the alarm unit. Arm the car. Wait 30 seconds, ground the trigger wire of the alarm unit. The alarm will go off regardless. If not, check and make sure again that the wire you are trying to use is the Correct Negative Trigger Wire and that it is an INPUT negative trigger wire. If not you may have a faulty alarm unit. Repeat the same thing with the Input Positive trigger wire on the alarm, but this time apply +12 positive to it after 30 second of arming your alarm. Third issue or cause is YOU the installer or it can be a combination with of the above. This one will be harder to test. Anyways, try that out and post your result.
