Subject: First alarm install, any hints? 00 Focus

About to attempt my first alarm install ever. I have done tons of car audio and electrical wiring, but never an alarm. I am doing it in a 2000 Focus. I have watched a few alarms being installed to get an idea of what I'm getting into, but have never done one myself.

I know the Focus has the PATS system. The 12 Volt Resource disk I have says to just use a universal bypass, so I'm assuming the Omega PASS4 universal transponder system bypass will work? I'm using Omega because I get them through one of my wholesalers.

Any tips/tricks I should know before diving into the product are greatly appreciated! From what I see, the Focus is a fairly simple install, no resistors or anything needed.

That should be easy for you, but than again you will never know the pain of child birth unless you have given birth to one yourself.

It's a pretty straight forward install. Just read, read, and read. Ask questions if you get stuck. Other than that I would sugest looking for all the wire that you need to hook up first before making your connection to the alarm. You may find the infomation below handy if you need to refer to it.

I did my first alarm about a month ago. I had no experience with it or even car audio, but it is pretty simple if you have patience and do plenty of research. I took a lot longer installing mine then what is really needed, but I wanted to do it once and not have to worry about it. I wanted to add factory locks, hide the alarm (not under dash or seat), have backup power, conceiled wiring, multiple sirens, factory locks, and a stealth kill switch. Make sure you have a multimeter; and remember to get all the small items before starting like wiring, fittings, diodes, relays, and all that good stuff. I ended up getting everything online after a couple frustrating trips around town.
