Does anyone who has installogy know if you can run the program on 2 differnt computers at different times with out buying 2 licenses? For example if you have it loaded on your work computer you can use it at work, but then when you go home you can have it on your home computer too?

I don't mean be able to use them at the same time but be able to use them at different times?

I think it is web based now, so you log into thier site to use it. So you could access it from any computer.

I'm still trying to figure that out. I don't think it's possible because it's web based now so you can't fool the system if it has to log onto an outside server. The online web log on makes it virtually impossible to have two computers run the same license.

plus i believe when you download and install the program it requires an install key to activate and when you get a new key number it deletes previous key numbers so if you activated your home computer it would deactivate your work computer automatically..... unless a guy was a backyard mechanic and doing work out of his garage i dont see why you'd want to run it from home anyway.....

You won't be able to get it to work without being connected to the internet period. It's crap in my opinion when you are have to be on the road and can't get connected to the internet. You have to key in your user id and password to activate the program. Install it onto a different computer you have to call and explain to them why you are not able to log in to it again after you have been logging into to many different computer before hand. For $350 a pop I expected it to be better, so I told them to cancel my subscribtion until they make it suited to my needs.

Get it paid for by your RS supplier. It's the least they can do if you purchase thousands of dollars worth of product from them.

It is internet based and boots up to only 1 computer.  I cancelled our subscription-Not user friendly Not practical and the wiring isn't right half the time-the program and company is a toal waste of money-much better programs available

posted_image You got to be kidding Jeff. Not unless I am sleeping with my suppliers daughter. If I get it eveyone will demand they have it for free as well. I'll be lucky to still have my shirt on my back after a thousands dollar worth of purchases. I assume you get your for FREE. You're not dating anyone that you are buying your product from, are you?? posted_image

On the serious notes. FREE is probably the best price. For DIY Bulldog product offers some free wire infomation. It's probably not as good as the paid stuff like DEI, OMEGA, Autostart, and Astroflex, but it will do if you are going to use it only once.

mseav.. i get DEI Directtech free and Omega support free as a dealer and i pay for Installogy and i'll tell you, it is by far the best of the bunch..... obviously as a business guy i wouldnt be paying for something i could already get for free if i didnt have to..... i find their info on current vehicles 05-06 etc is available quicker and more accurate than the others and i love the color jpegs of wire locations..... plus you get all the audio wiring for each vehicle and Scosches radio removal instructions, Ohms law calculator, Box size calculator, etc, etc.... it's great for my installers to be able to look something up themselves if i'm not around to ask!!

I do get mine for free but only after spending a yearly amount with my supplier. So in reality it's not free, but a bonus if I end up reaching my yearly purchase quota.

It is not free from Compustar. You have to contact your wholesaler  to ask if they  have anything for dealers in regards to wiring diagrams o support programs.

kgerry-Do you work for Wire Magic?  Just kidding.  Glad you have had good luck with it-you are a minority from many of the retailers I know.  We also use many of the other programs.  But as you mentioned nothing can beat the years of experience.  I sometimes wonder if any of my Installers can even read, but in the end they always seem to get it done and make my customers happy.  .  I may consider using them again in the future-NOT.  Thanks for the input.

Marty
