What are the differences between an automatic and manual remote start system? Is there a safe way to hook up an auto unit to a manual transmission car?

the main difference is the exit mode used with a 5sp RS. (not all are like this, just a generalization)

1. park car, pull hand brake, put gear stick in neutral

2. push button on remote, lights flash

3. exit car and close door

4. RS shuts down and is ready to re-start.

Some installers may connect an auto RS to a 5sp, but it's a big liability and certainly won't offer any warranty. Good installers will have safe ways, most general installers won't.

Money Talks, and i'd do it if the price was right, but you'd be signing a waiver and paying cash :-)
