I was going to bring back my old topic from the past, but it had already been locked. Im in the install bay now, and we started carrying DEI, but for some reason the computers in Trailblazers don't want to seem to "get along" with the remote starts. Apparently it is just something to do with the factory computer. Is there anything special that needs to be done with teh exception of the 457GW(455G) for the locks, and the 556LW(555L)? We really would like to be able to start doing these because we have turned 2 away already this "season". Plus the fact that if I can get some help from you guys and bring the solution to the bay, I'll look like the hero... lol.

Thanks again guys.

We haven't really had any problems with these things short of a couple 555l's not learning the resistance code.  Just make sure you got everything hooked up right and make sure to start the vehicle with the key at least once before you try to remote start it.  I know the last sstatement may seem stupid but I've seen installers try it.

I use the Trilogix modules for all the late model GM's and have no problems with any of the Trailblazer's or any Ion based vehicles.  Your description of your problem is vague to say the least. What exactly is the problem when you say " the computers in Trailblazers don't want to seem to "get along" with the remote starts " ? Are you experiencing no starts, over cranks or cranks but no start problems ?

ive always used the DEI interfaces and have never had one problem, these are cake walk vehicles to install in. when you say the the vehicle isnt "getting along" with the remote start , what exactly do you mean by that?

the remote start just doesnt start... it doesnt crank, and then it will even mess with the ignition itself. I have personally never done it, Im just going by what the other installers have said. The 3-4 that we have tried have all done the same thing, and it wasnt the same installer. I would like to be able to do them again so we dont have to turn anyone away. I'll have to check with one of hte guys to see exactly what it does/doesnt do.

i think that it might have been the bypasses. We havent been able to get the new dei bypasses, so we were stuck with some other ones. I dont know if they have done it since getting the DEI bypasses, so we'll just have to give it a try and see what happens.
Thanks for the help.

i've done probably 50+ with no issues... both with the 455G & 555L combo and with the 457G...... i'd look at installer error....

Well we'll just have to say yes to the next one that comes it, and we'll see what happens.

some trailblazers, such as my 06, have the useless yellow start wire.  The car has anti grind so it turns over when the ignitions see 12v and the acc's lose 12v.   Most So sending 12 v to the starter is useless.  Its just like the equinox, similar to the colorado and canyon.  Im still waiting for wiring info and diagz for my 06, but the best thing to do till then is cut the starter and see if she starts....if it does......then its a different ball game.  If it doesnt start, the yes its definitely install error
