So im currently ticked off right now and I’ll explain why. yesterday I installed a R/S viper 771xv two way in my uncles 05 Toyota Tacoma. not a complicated install over all. the only thing that threw me of a little was the second starter wire that had to energized for the car to crank but that was taken care of. his Tacoma required a 556u immobilizer bypass module which I installed. After all my connections were made and other features tested I proceeded to test the R/S. it cranked and ran with no problem. after a few more test cranks I cleaned up the wiring and put everything back together. at this point I stepped away from the truck into the house and when I came back into the garage I tried to r/s but it would. it would just crank and not catch. I knew it wasn't my tach wire or 556u key ring rope because I tested those a few times before putting everything back so I was like WTF?. well soon after that happened my uncle mentioned that he had low jack and that he had some security system installed by the dealer when he bought it. the low jack wasn't a problem at all, what was the problem was this stupid little f^cking immobilization security system called NoStart (https://www.nostart.com/index.html) The dealership charged my uncle 675.00 for this. I mean I see how it would be and advantage when you have a car without a chip in they key to prevent theft but on a new truck that already has a standard immobilizer system? come on. so not only will his r/s not work unless he’ll like 3 feet away from the truck and jiggles his key chain but he paid for something that really cheap and didn't really need. btw if you check out the site it tells shows you how easy it is to install no start and how it works (in case your like huh?) oh yeah and his remote's the first one to the left. it's a black with a whit button. if anyone has worked with or ran into this nostart system hit me up. p.s. thanks for letting me vent guys

If I was your uncle I would go back to the dealer ship and ask why do they feel the need to add 675.00 no start theft device when the vehicle already includes imobilizer at no charge. Even if your uncle specifically asked for the system he should have been advised that the factory provides an anti-theft system already and that the add-on system is not really needed. Sounds like a salesman was trying to make some money. I know its their job to sell you stuff but come on.

Go into the engine compartment and remove the main relay box cover and put a finger on each relay and then press the button. See if you can locate it that way and swap it out.

Makes me wonder when I read a description like this:

Simply insert your Digitally Coded Key (DiCK) into the cigarette lighter in your vehicle and the NOSTART Immobilizer allows the engine to start.

Sounds like all you need to do is look for the fuel pump or FI relay, and replace it with the OEM standard relay. The thing looks like just a latching relay that gets the signal from the keychain attachment before closing, and it replaces the stock relay.
Might just have to do a bit of troubleshooting to see what circuit is interrupted when the key device is not within range, but that shouldn't be too hard. It's apparently not the starter relay, since you were able to crank it, but it didn't start up.

hmm.. thanks guys, I thought about looking for that relay taking it out but I kinda wanna make my uncle take the truck back to the dealership and bitch. It probable isn't illegal for them to sell you something you don't need but I wonder if they would compensate him in some way if he spoke to the manager or the corporate office. He just bought the truck three months ago so I don't think it's too complain. I don't know. should I pull the shhh out? or try and at least make them do it so they can't say that I f^ucked something up or voided a warrantie because i did it my self. ya know how shady they are about voiding warranties if they don't do it.

I wonder how much of that $675 they charged your uncle was labor- from what I can tell, it involves finding the relay, pulling it out, and plugging in the replacement.
And also getting the car's keychain on the transponder device too.
I don't suppose they gave your uncle the original relay back for the price, did they?
