My girlfriend's mom just bought an 03 Audi A6 quattro turbo (automatic). I pulled her old Code Alarm remote starter out of her old car (Mitsu. Montero) and she would like it put into the A6. I can get a wire diagram, but is there anything special I should look out for?
Thanks again.

I would rather go with a DEI remote starter.Viper or clifford.Code alarm isn't high on my list. Some people have great things to say, some don't.I would just start brand new.Especially since the new units have the remote satellite units instead of the old relay pack..

well i dont think she will want to buy a new one b/c she does like the one she has (i myself prefer DEI). SO I really just need to know if there is anything special about the A6's that I need to watch out for.
Thanks

alright, well now that I have bothered you all enough, does anyone have a wire diagram for this car? All we have at work is Wire Magic, and I absolutely hate it (its way off half the time).
Thanks

Kenny

PS I lookied in the vehicle wiring section, and it only lists an A4, not the A6.

Ok, just a few more questions, and I'll be out of your hair.
1) Do I need to do anything with the second starter wire?
2) How do I isolate the 2 parking light wires so they dont feed into each other? (can I use a 451m since it works like 2 relays... how?)
3) What is the Code Alarm equivelant of the 556UW/555U/555b?
4) Finally, what does the wire chart mean by "ignition locks".
Thanks again guys!!!

1) Yes... you need to power it
2) Using a pair of 6A diodes, bands towards the brain, and a pair of relays to isolate away from the switch
3)There probably isn't a Code Alarm equivalent to the 556U. You need to tap directly into the OEM antenna wires for the immobilizer, and the 556U does this nicely.
4)Ignition locks is a feature where the aftermarket unit locks the doors when the ignition is turned on. Turn it off in programming

I'm supposed to be doing a 2001 A6 tomorrow, looking at the sheet, it may be slightly easier than a Passat, Jetta, or A4 (no going into the door), but still may be a PITA. Hard to say

well when you finish it, let me know. I have done about 10 r/s's so far, and I am doing this for my g/f's mom, so I really dont wanna mess it up. Any ideas what I have to do about the 555U/immobilizer bypass? She has a UTI from her last car, which im assuming is similar, but I could be way the hell off.. lol. Can I use a 555U on the code alarm????
Thanks for all the help.

555U you will have to add a relay, but yes you can do it. There's an infotech somewhere on directechs about that. Other than that, nothing too wierd about this car, as far as I know.

I cannot access directechs b/c I dont have a password. Any other places that I can get that info? And as for the 555u, do you meant that I can use that on the code alarm, or....???
Thanks
