1998 Mustang GT Convertible
5 Speed Manual Transmission
Viper 791XV w/ Remote Start
DEI 530T Window Module

I have remote start on my car and when the guy originally installed it, the brake would kill the remote start. Since I've taken it in to have my 530T and trunk pop installed, it doesn't work anymore. Is there anything I should look for in particular or is this common?

when they connected the 530t and trunk pop they must have disturbed the brake shutdown wire. its located on a 5pin harness (h3) the brown wire in the middle of the harness. check and see if that wire is still connected to the brake wire(either the brake switch or brake light wire)

i have the 791xv and i installed the 530t and trunk popper and all works fine together

I looked up under there, and all I see is a black plug (assuming to activate the brake lights) and a white switch with a shaft clipping to the brake pedal. The black plug has 2 wires: red, and GREEN/ red. Both have solder joints and electrical tape around the joints.

Btw...what's the easiest way to work up there? I'm not a HUGE guy, but I'm a little big. I have to get a FUBAR position on my back.

the RED / light. green wire should have a small guage brown wire connected to it.....check and see if that wire is still there.

Where theres is a wire there's a way.

Grr...it does not. I guess he unsoldered it since he got in trouble previously for enabling remote start on a standard.

just tap the brown wire from the alarm brain to the RED / green wire if you can, i used ad spade connector and plugged it into the plug. but if you can get to it to work on try this. extend the brown wire and trail it to the Back of the car(prefably under the carpet nice and neat) and splice it directly in front of the brake light wire. thats only if you dont care that its kinda ghetto.
