I have a 507T sensor and I need to install it in my matrix 1 alarm. I know I have to plug the (+) and the (-) and the trigger to the primary trigger of my alarm. How do i hook up the diode on the trigger wire? wich way? and what diode? I dont really know much about diodes. Please help.

I know but what about if I use a diode that is 1N4001-Micromini?

Ratings

Peak increase voltage PIV   50V

Forward voltage drop(VF) at If     1.6V

Forward current (If)     1A

Max. surge current (16ms)    30A

Reverse current at PIV   10uA

would this one work? or do i need somethin else? like a 1N4001/L?
