Just put a Clifford avantguard in an audi a4 avant 2001 and sometime when you activate the remote start the factory alarm goes off. How can i bypass the factory alarm? diagrams say its bypassed by lock/unlock. Thanks for any help.

Go into the door, do doorlocks. Set the starter up to either unlock before start, or use the disarm pulse to disarm (will also unlock driver's door only). Now, the tricky part. You just unlocked the driver's door of an expensive car... it is now running.... using wither a negative crank output, or use a relay to get a negative pulse when the car cranks off of the starter wire, diode isolate appropriately, and lock the door when it cranks.
While you are in the door... trunk release is negative at the switch.

thanks gus, i was thinkign about that, the clifford actually has a unlock signal coming from the intellistart module to provide an unlock before starting. guess i have to hook it up now. unless i find away to stop the factory alarm from triggering. BTW if anyone is looking for a cool place to mount the led in an audi and is patient, the picture is where i choose to do it.

I thought about that in my 2004 VW.... but then had the even brighter brainwave of pullin the alarm LED wiring into each door, replacing the OEM red LED with a nice bright blue DEI LED, and filling in the holes where the plunger used to be on both doors..... looks good, and I don't have to listen to the useless plungers rattling.
