hey guys.. nice to meet you. im new here.. i have a Carvox alarm, keyless, auto start.. took it to the shop to get installed.. had to place the key under the hood and all that stuff.. now.... they got EVERYTHING work untill the autostart.. it turns over fine.. however after that.. it then disengages the starter... and then all of a sudden it will reengage the starter... someone said i gotta place the tach wire to the...

ignition coil (fuel injector)
distributor wire
oil sensor wire

now.. im wondering just why this is happening?  i undersatnd the modual is sapposed to check to see if the car is running.. but the thing is.. when im driving it.. i will hit a button to check the status of the car.. and it will say running? so im not sure what else is going on here??? but doesn;t that mean that the tach is alrady hooked up or?

any information on this would be EXTREMELY great. thanks for your time

Douglas

that doesnt mean that tach is hooked up. It could be sensing the voltage increase when the car is running. You should always hook up a tach wire. The tach wire doesnt have to be from the distributor it can also be from an injector. Also I have never heard anyone hooking up a tach wire to a oil sending unit. An oil sending unit uses oil pressure to increase or decrease a resistance thus changing the voltage to the guague or light. The voltage doesnt ocilate or pulse.

What year is the car? I will assume it is 2000 or newer.

The remote starter will disengage once the brake is apply unless the brake wire is not connected probably on your alarm and starter unit.

The TACH wire will monitor if the is running.
Yes, they can be found at "ignition coil (fuel injector)
distributor wire". The TACH wire has to be learned(program into the unit).

The wire diagram below give you a good indication where it can be found.

Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with a passive immobilizer that needs to be bypassed for remote start operation only. Use DEI part number 555S to bypass. *1 Keyless module is behind the glove box to the right. *2 To meter the brake wire, must turn ignition on. *3 Low beam at the headlight switch is GREEN/ red. *4 Only if equipped with factory alarm.
