I have installed a remote starter on a 1997 Buick Park Avenue with a passkey 3 system. I installed the dei 555g module to bypass the system, but it wouldn't function. I rechecked wiring, ensured connections, crossed my fingers, etc, and couldn't get it to work.
I searched a found someone who's started didn't trigger the module long enough to progam initially. This was bypassed by manually grounding the blue wire while starting the car, programming the unit, then reconnected and everything is fine.
I tried this and it worked for programming, but the car still wouldn't start. If I hold the blue wire to ground while remote starting, the car starts fine. I believe that the starter ground output isn't supplying the needed timing for the bypass module.
Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternate wiring for this problem? I tried setting up a relay to the park lights to supply the ground signal when the parklights were activated, but this didnt' work.

Your ByPass has to be Powered Up DURING & AFTER Cranking......
Also be sure the Ignition Switch WHITE wire is Powered DURING & AFTER CRANKING....

What brand is your R.S. system? If its viper, valet, or most other DEI brands i had this problem once also. After talking with tech support at DEI i found this is a problem with the timing on only some systems. He suggested connecting the blue wire on the bypass unit to the (pink wire on the ribbon harness). This wire supplies ground from the time you activate the system untill its shut down.
