I have just finished an install of a brand new viper 791xv.  Everything worked fine the first day.  Remote start worked, and key start worked.  The next day, The car won't start with the key.  It also won't remote start.  So, I unplug the ribbon harness to the satellite pack, (everything else is hooked up to the viper brain)and the car starts right up with the key.  Later on in the day, i plug the ribbon back into the satellite pack and everything works fine again.  The car starts with the key and by remote.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Could of just been something loose.Make sure all your connections including the ribbon connection and see if it acts up again..

Thanks for the quick reply.  I was wondering if it could be the satellite relay pack or viper brain malfunctioning?  Has anyone heard of this before?  Could it be possible that the starter kill relay is not reliably working?

Well, actually when the ribbon harness is disconnected from the satellite relay pack, the car starts up normally with the car key.  But, when i connect it back into the satellite relay pack, sometimes the car does not want to start at all (with the car key or by remote)

When the car does not want to start, the starter does not even click over.  Its like the starter's power is interrupted.  Is it possible that the starter kill could be thinking it is in armed position?

yeah thats what I figured.  I Still need some input on the problem.  Can I just use the remote start and not use the starter kill?  I'm thinking of disconnecting the green wire (that goes to the key side) and reconnecting the vehicle's starter wire.  This way, the vehicle's starter wire will be uninterupted (so the car will always start with the ignition key) and remote start can still be activated because the purple wire from the viper alarm is still connected) Does that sound right?
