Hi everyone, this is my first alarm installation. I’m installing a viper 791xv in a 2000 Nissan quest. All functions work except the remote start. I have double check all connections I got from vehicle information database and I can’t find the problem. The only other option is try reprogramming the unit.

When I press the start button nothing happens, not even a click. I’m thinking my wire hookup is wrong. This what I did, cut starter wire, connect the purple wire (+ starter output) on the side going to the starter and the green wire (starter input) to the key side. The red wires were connected to constant 12V, the pink (+ ignition output) wire is connected to the ignition wire and the other wires were accessory wires. I don't know if did something wrong here but the remote start doesn't work

thanks kgerry for your help but i found the problem, it was the gray/black wire needed to be ground. but i have another problem, my instrumental panel lights are dead, and i did check the fuse.

Did you remove the cluster during your install? Did you arc any wires while you were making your power and ignition connections?

why would the grey/black need to be grounded? this is the diesel glow plug input........ it should only be hooked up if the vehicle is a diesel....

Yes I did remove the white wire and still not working. Sorry I did mean BLACK/ white wire. I don't know but the driving lights work fine. Is it possible the switch itself is bad? Before I forget my tv/vcr doesn't work either, could these two problems be related.
