I have tied into the dark blue wire coming from the steering colum harness (thin blue wire) as well as the, I belive the blk/lt.blue for the dome light. Neither are working. The install instructions indicate that a relay may be needed to create a stronger pulse for the horn honk. If this is the case how is this installed? Wondering if anyone has any knowledge on these two problems.
Thanks allot, Mark Replies: Posted By: thepencil Date Posted: October 17, 2005 at 8:22 PM If the domelight and horn is not working in the first place, putting in the keyless entry will not solve the problem you have on hand. Look in the fuse box and see if you got any fuses that may have shorted out.

My question was in anyones opinion or experience in installing are there any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong...
Posted By: m3810 Date Posted: October 23, 2005 at 6:40 AM I am installing keyless entry in a 2000 f150 and have been trying to get the dome light supervision, parking light blink and horn chip to work. In reviewing different posts on the sight and tieing into different wires I am having some problems. I so far cannot get the dome light supervision to work, tying into the ltblu/blk and also the door trigger. The parking light blink I have tied into the - at the switch and had it working but along with the parking lights the instrument, radio illumination and door switch illumination would also blink. The horn chirp I have tied into the dkblu with nothing and the ltgrn/yel which will chirp the horn but also the door chime as well as the door ajar light will blink. I am at a loss and if anyone out there has run into this same problem or has any ideas. There are three relays on the unit which is a micro DLR4HD if that helps.
Thanks in advance, Mark ![]() |
