I just my Autopage RS855 installed in my 98 Acura Integra. I'm trying to program it so that it automatically locks when I turn the ignition on.

I followed the directions about turning the ignition on/off 3 times and leaving it in the off position. I push the valet button 5 times (holding in the 5th) but the only thing that happens when I hold it in on the 5th push is a page to my LCD pager. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Do the other programing modes work for you?  Also (please don't think I'm being a smart !#$ here)  It is an 855 and not a 850 correct? The 850 is 4 pushes for that mode.

Sorry, I figured you knew which unit you had.  If you can get into all of the other programming modes then I would have to think bad unit.  I assume that the alarm and remote start function properly.  You can try resetting module to default settings and reprogram the options again.

I tried that. I can't get passed getting it into any programming mode.

The installer said he used my old valet button from my
old alarm (Push type button). In the manual it says
valet switch? Could that be causing the problem?

The valet switch in the autopage kit is a push button type also.  Was your installer able to get into programming modes?  Make sure your going all the way to ignition then off 3 times, not just to acc.  Not sure how your cars' ignition is set up.

No. He just installed it and left it in default.

Should I actually start the car then turn it off?

No don't go all the way to start.  The default setting is with ignition controlled lock and unlock.  Sounds like a wire came loose, bad ground or bad brain.  Also the default for the remote start is Tach so your installer must have either learned the tach signal or changed it to voltage or timer check . Both would require entering programming modes.

I finally figured it out. The yellow ignition wire came loose from the fuse box. thanks!
