I have a 98 honda civic lx, and I want to put either a spring assist or a motor on the trunk lid to open it when I pop the trunk.  Has anyone done this, or know how to do it?

Unless you already happen to have a spoiler on the car.

hi,

if the spoiler is still to heavy for the factory gas springs to open, McMaster-Carr has a large selection of gas springs which may fit the application. www.mcmaster.com    pages 1063-1067.  hope this helps.

Yeah, I have no spoiler, nor do I ever plan to install one.  I just have a problem with the trunk opening no more than one inch due to the layer of dampmat I just applied.  And my trunk still rattles!
