Is there any reason a GMDL-BP would not work on a 2001 Suburban just to bypass the passlock II? I assume I could just hook up the 4 wires just like a PLDATA, but I am not positive it would work.

I bought way too many GMDL-BP's and might as well get rid of one here if it will work.

GM Passkey 3 & Passlock 2 Override Interface (DB-PASS-23A)

DATA would be wrong..........May cause Code Errors

I think 03 is when they changed

The GMDL-BP is not listed as an option for the 01 Burbans, but the GMBP is on the list.I think the buss information built for the GMDL-BP is different than the GMBP because of certain codes it sends out.

Well it worked like a charm. I thought it would, but I just wasn't sure. I figured if the PLDATA will work for all Passlock II vehicles then that part of the GMDL-BP must be the same as that. Obviously the doorlock interface part would not work, but the passlock II was all I needed.

Thanks

i was under the impression a GMDL-BP was simply a GMBP that also did DL..... no reason it wouldnt work.... just like the 457G does PL1, PL2 & PK3 as well as locks, alarm etc.....but works fine in place of a 556L or 555G....

anyone had a chance to play with the XK bootloader units yet?  my order will be here next week and i'm curious to know if there are any issues or if they do indeed make as much sense as they seem to........
