Hi Guys,

I installed a Crimestopper RS900 Remote Starter on my 2004 Toyota Sienna XLS Limited. If I remote start the van, the factory remote is not functioning. I can use the remote of the starter to lock/unlock driver and passenger door. Since this remote starter is the el cheapo type, there is no other output that I can program to open the to sliding doors and the hatch. So I resort to use the factory remote if possible.

Since the RS900 can act as a "add on" to an existing or a factory alarm, I try that wiring. I was able to start the van by pressing the lock button on the factory remote. As soon as the van started via the remote starter, the factory remote again inoperable. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

OK, first try this. Go put the key in the car and start it. Then with the engine running try to use the factory remote. Chances are it won't work.

If this is the case then the only thing you can do is deal with it or get a different alarm with outputs you can use.

I power the Starter(thick black-yellow), Ignition1(black), Iginition2(thin black-yellow) , and Accessory(pink) wires at the ignition switch.

I already know that once the van start with a the key, the factory remote won't work.

I know that going with a different alarm with the outputs that I can use is the alternative, BUT I really hoping that there might be a solution that someone may know.

There must a wire that tells the wireless/keyless module that the engine is running.

I tried interrupting ignition wires at the BCM/fusebox on a Sienna once-----I could finally get the factory keyless to work with the engine running, but then the climate controls wouldn't work----obviously that is no good.

As others here have said, the only real solution is to get the right product with enough outputs to control the sliding doors and hatch.

By the way, if you just pull on the handle for the sliding door, it will still slide open by itself----you might be able to live with that.
