Please remember I'm a rookie. I've read that you must diode isolate the wait to start wire to prevent the battery from draining on a diesel application. Is the wait to start wire sensing for the wait to start light on the instument cluster to go out. If that is the case no power draw to speak of. Rookie!!

Consider the Diode as a 1 way valve.  Lets it out but not back in or visa versa
