Hi, I am just wondering for all you MECP's and shop owners out there, since you open up a  mobile security stereo store, you expect to work on any car possible out there right?? So where do you guys find all the informations from for every individual cars wire locations color codeings, and determine where to interface with the factory systems?

Is there a super book that tells you all these information?

Or do you buy a service manual for evey car???

Well, wondering are you MECP certified or not.  When I started installing car audio and alarm system, there is no certification availble.  You just have to do it the hard way.  BTW, there was no internet, too.  I have to write down every wire and colour code for every vehile.  Also, Car Audio and Security Manufacture tech support is not very helpful.  We became MECP certified because we want to be different and support this program.

You are luck that we can supply you with the latest colour code and information today, isn't it?

Wiremagic.com will sell you access to their wiring database.  I know DEI also provides technical support to their dealers; not sure, but the other alarm/remote start manufacturers probably do the same.
