this probabaly wont get a reply as im english, but i have a rover214 sli with central locking. there has been an aftermarket alarm on the car which was taken off when i bought it. as the central locking is not working, the control unit looks good (although not changed or tested) the fuse is not blown, and all the locks are maintained and working, i think that when someone has installed the alarm that was on it they had it hooked up to the central locking so you could use the alarm fob to unlcok/lock the car.

is there anywhere on this car which you would typically cut and wire and join it to an alarm for this reason? i believe that someone has done this and not reconnected the wires afterwards.

if not this does anyone have another suggestion>?

I wouldnt have thought that he would have cut the wires. This car needs a door motor to be installed in the drvers door so that the alarm could control the central locking.

Was the CDL module located in the drivers door?

no the control module is in the passenger door. there were some wires chopped inside the drivers door but ive reconnected them, still no avail. i think they may be the wrong way round, thats my next job once it stop raining.
