Remote Start on 2005 F-250 Diesel.  Used a Timer for "Wait to Start "

Problem is the vehicle will START fine when WARM, .....but will NOT stay Running when COLD.  When COLD,  It STARTS for approx 15 seconds and DIES.  Runs like crap when it does start COLD

Should I use TACH or stick with Timer??

Use the tach....its SOOO easy to get to. Are you using a "pulse timer" or the good old fashioned "wait to start wire"

The timer is for the glow plug delay, and tach is for starter cut off.

Oops, I forgot 12v for 30 years. Your as old as I am. posted_image

I have never been a fan of the pulse timer...before anything try extending the wiat time a bit on the timer...let them plugs get REAL HOT.

Thanks for the Reply........

I am using a DEI 528 T Timer and have it set for almost 60 seconds.
What is the TACH location & wire color??
I was going to try:   Green / White on Driver side Dash

Set the starter for No engine check and 3 second crank if it's a viper, vipers don't like ford tach signals.

the 05 superduty has factory anti grind so it will stop cranking once started.
